Yes — there are over 5,000 peer-reviewed studies on red and near-infrared light therapy. The science is well-established for skin, recovery, pain, sleep, and cellular energy. Results are best with consistent use (3–4 sessions per week for 4–6 weeks).
What should I wear?
Whatever you're comfortable in. Light penetrates clothing, so you can stay fully dressed — but exposed skin gets the strongest effect. Most members opt for shorts and a tank, or undergarments. Robes and changing space are provided.
Is it safe? Are there side effects?
Red light therapy is non-invasive, drug-free, and FDA-cleared for skin and pain applications. It doesn't use UV (no skin damage). Mild eye sensitivity is the only commonly reported effect — we provide protective eyewear.
How often should I come?
For best results, 3–4 sessions per week for the first 4–6 weeks, then 1–2 per week for maintenance. Consistency matters more than frequency — one session per week is still beneficial.
When will I see results?
Energy and sleep improvements often within 1–2 weeks. Skin and recovery benefits typically show after 4–6 weeks of consistent use. Hair and longer-term tissue changes can take 8–12 weeks.
Can I combine it with other treatments?
Absolutely. Red light pairs especially well with hormone optimization, microneedling recovery, post-injectable healing, and post-workout sessions. Talk to your BeaWell provider about timing.
Are there any reasons I shouldn't do it?
Pregnancy, active cancer treatment, photosensitive medications, and certain skin conditions may be contraindications. We'll review a brief intake form on your first visit.
